Using our garden

family & friends

Our garden is a place for living in and sharing with others and is used and enjoyed every day.  It is an extension to our house and provides relaxation and has also helped physical fitness.

Our four children, and friends, have always made use of the garden.  The chalet was a Wendy House, paths were go-cart runs and the lower garden had swings.

In recent years the lawn, pagoda and summer house are used in many events and celebrations for family, friends and neighbours.  For the biggest family events, marquees have been a great success.  Outdoor lighting and candles often add to the atmosphere.

Visiting children especially like the water features, bridges, wind chimes and stone animals.  Walking sticks seem no bar to reaching all areas of the garden.

We often spend time in the peace of the summer house, enjoying a different view of the garden and the sight and sound of the stream.  Birds, and other wildlife, abound.  The large oriental pagoda provides welcome shade in hot weather.

In 2008 we became members of the ngs (National Garden Scheme).  Since May 2006 we have welcomed more than 11,000 visitors to our charity garden open days.
